TURTLES!
KS1 children rolled and flattened air drying clay to produce these turtles. They used combs, straws and other mark making tools to create patterns on their backs and then stuck in beads and buttons.
BARK PAINTINGS
These KS2 children had a go at recreating the cross hatching style found on Australian bark paintings from some parts of Northern Australia.
I pre-prepared card cut-outs of Australian animals for the children to draw around on sugar paper as we had limited time. Of course, if you have more time then encourage them to draw and cut out their own.
They then used oil pastels to add the lines.
